在电缆在铺设之前,电缆沟必须填充一层至少最小80毫米厚的柔软的筛选沙料,形成平整的底部。电缆沟从人行道到车行道处,或者其它标准必须发生变化的位置,电缆沟的底部将逐渐倾斜。 承包商必须采取所有必要的措施,防止因滑动或者电缆沟墙壁断裂对道路或者地表面造成的损坏;

The Project Manager will supply final drawings showing the cable routes and the locations of proposed circuits. The Project Manager will assist the Contractor by providing records of existing cables and other services, wherever possible; the accuracy of which cannot be guaranteed.
Before commencing work at site, the Contractor shall be responsible for obtaining the exact approved routes and locations, and shall issue "Notices of Intent" to all authorities concerned. He shall further¬more obey all relevant rules as applied by the Traffic Department with reference to traffic signs, diver¬sions and general traffic control, during the performance of his work.
The Contractor shall be responsible for precautions to prevent damage to existing services and elec¬tric cables. Damage to services, cost of repairs and replacements shall be managed as described in Sections IV and V of these bidding documents. The Contractor shall be liable for any costs for making good such damage caused in the execution of the contractual work.
All arrangements of cables and methods of laying and installation shall be subject to the approval of the Project Manager.
Installation radii shall be as large as possible; the minimum shall be 25 D along the route, and 15 D adjacent to joints and terminations {D being the overall diameter of the cable).
13.2.2.2  Excavation Soil Types
For the purpose of describing the work specifications the following definitions for the soil types in ac¬cordance with VDE 0210, Table 12, shall apply;
Definition of soil types for works associated with excavations:
«   Soil Type 1: Non-cohesive soils / sand, loose, semi-dense
• Soil Type 2: Non-cohesive soils/ sand, dense, grave, bolder uniform, gravel-grand, stones, mac¬
adam, graded
«   Soil Type 3: Cohesive soils / very soft, soft, purely cohesive, soft with non-cohesive additions, firm, purely cohesive
• Soil Type 4: Cohesive soils / firm with non-cohesive additions, stiff purely cohesive, stiff with non-
cohesive additions, hard purely cohesive, hard with non-cohesive additions
• Soil Type 5: Organic soils and soils with organic additions
• Soil Type 6: Rock with considerable fissuring
• Soil Type 7: Rock not decomposed conditions with minor fissuring
Based on the previous experience of excavation works, the general soil types in the project area is considered to be of type 2, 3, 4 and / or 5 in general with type 6 a slight possibility but believed mini¬mal (<1%).
Before submitting his bid, the Bidder shall satisfy himself concerning the nature of the ground likely to be encountered during operations.
The Bidder shall provide the rates for excavation works taking above facts into consideration.
Unit rates for specific excavation works in soil types 1 and 7 shall be provided separately in the price schedules. These unit rates shall be applicable in actual cases where these soil types are encoun¬tered subject to the approved of the Project Manager.
Note: The above definitions and guidelines shall also be applicable to any other excavation works in¬cluding excavation of pole pits and installation of poles.
The exact location of each trench and pit shall be subject to the approval of the Project Manager.
The trenches shall be straight, the sides shall be straight and free from any sharp material/edges likely to damage the cable or accessories, the trench bottom shall be firm and of smooth contour and shall be free from any sharp materials/pebbles, likely to damage the cables.
The trench shall be filled with a minimum 80 mm thick layer of soft and sieved sand to form a smooth bedding before the cables are laid. Where trenches pass from a footway to a roadway, or at other po¬sitions where a change of level is necessary, the bottom of the trench shall slope gradually. The Con¬tractor shall take all precautions neces$ary to prevent damage to the road or ground surface due to a slip or breaking- away from the side walls of the trench.
The Contractor shall deal with and dispose of water so as to prevent any risk of the cables and other materials which are to be laid in the trenches being detrimentally affected. He shall provide all pumps, well points and appliances required and shall carry out all necessary pumping and bailing. The con¬tract prices shall allow for all such equipment and operations.
The Contractor shall be responsible for public safety and hence shall provide picket fences and ropes along the routes of open trenches, as well as danger notices, barriers and red warning lights during the hours of darkness. A watchman shall be provided for every 300 m of open trench.
Unless otherwise agreed, provision shall be made during excavation for reasonable access of persons and vehicles to property or places adjacent to the route. This provision shall be maintained until in¬terim restoration has been completed.
Where, in the opinion of the Project Manager, other access measures prove unsatisfactory, the Con¬tractor shall install PE or PVC pipes of 150 mm minimum internal diameter at the level and in align¬ment with the cables are to be laid and backfill-this section of the cable trench immediately thereafter in the presence of the Project Manager. Supply and installation of the pipes as well as pulling through the cables are deemed to be included in the contract price.
Excavation in paved sidewalks shall be carried out with special care. When removing paving slabs, the Contractor shall take the necessary precautions to avoid breakage.
Whenever trenches run parallel to existing services, cables, pipes, the Contractor shall maintain a dis¬tance of at least 0.5 m between the existing services and the edge of the new trench. The Contractor shall cross existing services with the outmost care and shall ensure that the services are adequately protected. He shall obtain the written approval of the Project Manager in advance, concerning the method of crossing existing services.
Where mounds of earth exist on the cable routes as finally approved, they shali be cleared to the nor¬mal ground level. Cables shall be laid to a depth as indicated in the drawings of Annex 3 or at the level given by the Project Manager below the road level.
