LIGHTING CIRCUITS

13.1 The minimum lighting level foreseen in norms NBR 5413 and NR-17 must always be
complied with.
13.2 Emergency lighting for safely of circulation must be foreseen. It can come from emergency
lighting boxes or lighting fixtures having their own batteries.
13.3 The use of lighting fixtures with incandescent lamps should be avoided.
13.4 High yield lighting reflectors should be used for apparent or inserted installations.
13.5 Lighting installations should be designed in alternate manner with circuits from different
sources, in order to guarantee at least 50% lighting in case of failure in one of the circuits.
13.6 Explosion-proof lighting fixtures and accessories in environments requiring this should be
used.

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION
ELECTRICAL, AUTOMATION AND INSTRUMENTATION SYSTEM -SPECIFICATION AND INSTALLATION GUIDELINE  VS1
13.7 The lighting circuits must allow selecting Automatic (e.g. by photocells) or Manual mode. In the Manual Mode the circuits will be energized by switches

installed in strategic locals of the areas and rooms.
14 UPS / BATTERY BANKS
14.1 It is mandatory to have knowledge of standard VS-E-012-6 for design and specification of
UPS's.
14.2 Stationary type batteries, alkaline or lead, preferentially sealed and with minimum autonomy
of one hour, shall be used.
14.3 The battery chargers must be microprocessed with resources for diagnostics and Load /
Fluctuation with automatic adjustment of the output voltage in the Load mode.
14.4 The UPS's must have automatic static commutation in case of inner failure and an
installation design allowing a general bypass for isolating the unit. They also must have
facilities for connection via network.
14.5 The batteries must be installed in a separate room provided with exhauster. The assembly
racks must be of varnished wood, allowing easy access to all of them.
14.6 The electronic units must be placed together with the other panels in the electrical room.
14.7 The interconnection between the batteries must be made with bars.
15 AUTOMATION
15.1        Design of the Automation System
The philosophy of the Automation Systems must be based on the distributed control principles, with independent architectures interconnected by a high-speed

communication system. The automation equipment and solutions must be designed for operating with the minimum possible of persons and keep within the

personal and operational safety criteria. This must include diagnostics of events and failures, operational facility and also the ergonomic aspect of the

installations. Another important aspect is the possibility to track the product and its quality from the start to the end of the process. This facility will be obtained by the interaction of the system levels 1 and 2. The knowledge of standards VS-E-012-

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION
ELECTRICAL, AUTOMATION AND INSTRUMENTATION SYSTEM -SPECIFICATION AND INSTALLATION GUIDELINE  VS1
1/2/3/4 for the design and specification of the Automation Systems is mandatory. Below the structure of the different levels composing the Automation System
Level 0 (included in the scope of supply)
Includes the field devices, actuators, sensors, motors and the process instruments.
Level 1 (included in the scope of supply))
Level 1 is based on the SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) system and a dedicated PLC. The SCADA system is a commercial software package allowing visualization, information handling, commands, data acquisition and control of a specific process. The system is supplied with the process signals and data by the PLC.
15.2       Man-Machine Interface
A MMI (desktop computer - PC) is used as a digital operation interface for executing the Level 1 functions. It provides the operator with easy and quick dialogue, functions including loop control, starts and stops of equipment and systems, alarms, status, graphics, directed messages, etc., providing total control of the plant.
Only monitors, keyboards and mouses are on the command desks; the CPU's remain on their own rack in another environment, interconnected to the peripherals by KVM cables. When applicable, conventional operation panels and desks must be foreseen in parallel to the MMI's for emergency control of important functions that might put the plant's safety at risk.

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION
ELECTRICAL, AUTOMATION AND INSTRUMENTATION SYSTEM -SPECIFICATION AND INSTALLATION GUIDELINE  VS1
Operation modes, operational philosophy, arrangement, quantity and layout of the screens, development and identification (tags) philosophy, memory map, etc.will be discussed between the supplier and the VSB team at an opportune time. Therefore VSB must present a specific standard guideline or validate the developer's presentation or, still, develop it together.
15.3 Communication Networks
The communication between the SCADA, PLC and Level 2 Systems must be via an ETHERNET network. All networks having responsibility must be redundant. The plant floor network applied in the process control systems must be standard PROFIBUS- DP/PA. Special cases must be agreed with the VSB team. All networks outside the electrical rooms and for control must be of fiber optic and the supplies of the necessary materials must be part of the supplier's scope.
